We are friends, families and neighbors who share a special bond and common interest in protecting Cape May's culture, quality of life and historic legacy.

We are seasonal and year-round residents, as well as regular visitors, who come together to socialize, address issues of concern, and, when necessary, contest actions that are not in the best interests of our members. 

We are also stewards of a stunning island with a storied past and a valued designation as a National Historic Landmark, and we are guided by that responsibility.

Click here to read in the face of unrelenting opposition from Cape May County, Orsted abandons Ocean Wind One and Two projects.

CEO Mads Nipper of the Danish wind energy corporation, Orsted, announced October 31st that it is cancelling development of the Ocean Wind I and II wind farms off the coast of Cape May County. He citied supplier delays, increases in long-term interest rates and concerns over the likelihood of final construction permits as the reasons.

Changing the calculus for Orsted may also have included the unrelenting opposition of Cape May County commissioners led by Former New Jersey Superior Court Judge, Michael J. Donohue, who serves as Special Counsel on Offshore Wind to Cape May County.

Click here to learn more about a new short-term rental property owners State and Cape May requirement (a short-term rental is defined as any property rented for a period less than 175 consecutive days).

As of (August 2022) State of New Jersey law requires proof of minimum property damage and bodily injury insurance coverage to be provided annually to the City of Cape May. Details of what specific insurance information must be provided are noted in the attached letter going out to Cape May homeowners.

A reminder that all rental properties regardless of size must also be registered with the City of Cape May by submitting a mercantile license application. Details on how to find the application form are also included in the attached letter.

The 100-acre property extends from the Coast Guard Base toward Pittsburgh Avenue. It will be the largest natural resource preserved in the City of Cape May. The litigation of 7 years ended with a settlement between the State of New Jersey, East Cape May
Associates and Concerned Citizens for Sewell Tract Preservation, Inc. The property has been conveyed to the State of New Jersey for open space.------------------------May area resident or visitor to join.
